Exclamation Lcd Screen... Questions and Help pick one..

I know lot of people here say that a Lcd is not good for gameing...Ok then I know what happens and whatnot...I have been looking at a few screens from Samsung and ViewSonic... they said a 14" Lcd screen is the same size as a 17" is that right? Also how much power do they take up? around 28W or so right?

When you call a CRT 17", you get something like 16" VIS, but when you call an LCD 17", you really get 17" VIS (viewable image size)

I play UT at 80FPS all the time and haven't seen any smudging/etc... the image quality's a lot better with the flat panel though

I have a NEC, kind of Sony knock-off. Top notch, 40W or so power consumption (if I remember the spec sheet).

Like Super said, 15" is 15" with flat panels, my 17" HP monitor was about 15" viewable....

with the image quality better then a Crt I find that puzling.. How is that? the text is better looking I should say... Plus only useing 40W instead of 175W will give my Ups a lighter load!

It looks better and is gentler on the eyes. You were in compusa, you should be able to see for yourself. Everything's more vivid... that's about the best way I could describe it.
