I know I know. Everything I read about this card says its crap. But the good news is it was cheap and it will get me by till I can afford what I ready want

So for now. Any suggestions on how to get the most performance out of this sucker?

I upgraded the hell out of the heat sink, it now has two fans and could cool a cpu.

Anyone getting any sort of good performance out of these?

Welcome to AOA Forums First thing is install the latest forceware drivers from nvidia even if those are not legal in 3Dmark03, but they are in games. I've heard they are pretty good drivers. Also I would recommend to do some tweaking using those programs that people use (can't remember the names of any ).

Cool I am benchmarking it now, just out of the box.

then I'll do some tweaking. But so far I have noticed that its isn't as good as the QuadroFX 500

UPDATE: out of the box it got a big bad ass score of 1808 in 3dmark03. Which is better then my dell workstation which got a 1773.

My Computers specs:
Gigabyte 7vt600
1 gig PC2700 (off brand)
AMD 3200
Samsung 7200RPM
NEC DVD burner
EVGA 5600XT 256mb card
XP PRO

Work (the dell)
P4 3.2 (800mhz fsb)
1 gig dell ram (speed?)
BAD ASS SCSI 15krpm drive
DVD burner
Quadro FX 500

So it didn't do much better then the dell but cost a helova lot less

However I 3dmark just finished running with my gpu @300 and the ram @500 and got a 2292 I'll post again when I get this bish to break the 3k mark on 3dmark03

EDITED UPDATE: Well I didn't reach the goal, but I've got it running stable with the gpu @333 and ram @ 533 which is a 3dmark score of 2459

Maybe I am lost on this one. But something doesn't seem right with your scores. I would have thought that you'd be getting around 3000-3500 in 3DMark03.

Are you sure you have the latest MoBo and Video card drivers installed along with the latest direct X?

Look at this bench on Toms Hardware: http://www.tomshardware.com/graphic/...charts-12.html
Look at the difference between the 5700U and the 5600U.

Wow! The 5700 is like 25% faster than the 5600.

3DMark03 takes no prisoners with Hardware. Cards designed for DX8 just won't cut it with 3DMark03. Use 3DMark01 for a more accurate and pleasing measure of your system.
