For those new ATI drivers

Shamelessly copied from hardocp.com

Everyone got real excited about ATi posting BETA drivers. And here of course is the reason they used not to. We have already gotten reports from two people that have hosed their OS with the BETA drivers. If you are not aware that you should back up at least your entire C partition before installing beta anything, I would highly suggest you not use them.

Still if you want to possibly do more damage, here are a bunch of registry settings that will certainly get you well on the way to killer your OS. Blame Joe M!

I suggest you learn how to back up your registry before you tear into these...

[H]i guys, just thought I'd drop this your way. Installed the betas ATi posted today (5.13.01.6025), and some of the features are disabled by default. Add the following values to the registry to enable the few that I know of:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ATI Technologies\Desktop\0000]

"DisableOverlayTheatreMode"=dword:00000000
"HideAllowDesktopPanning"=dword:00000000
"HideOverlayTHXLogo"=dword:00000000
"OverlayWarningMessage"=dword:00000000
"Projector"=dword:00000001
"Overlay"=hex:01,00,00,00
"Rotation"=hex:01,00,00,00
"AnisotropicFiltering"=hex:01,00,00,00

I agree, it appears I was having some serious issues with a new NIC card in my machine and the 6011 and 6014 drivers...

I had to ghost my backup and spend 2 hours tweaking, not to mention screwing up and deleting my win98 partition on accident
