Toss up between the XG77.62 and Forceware 77.72

I had problems with vido playback with the XG but no problems with the latest forceware, some people have complained of corruption with the latest forceware but had good luck with the XG set so which ever works best

Did you read the fix for that in the 6800LE thread? I think it will work for you.

Try this one:

That fixes the problems in 77.62s for most people.

I have that problem in the 77.72's, did the same thing to fix it, it's the gamma setting thats messed up, it seems to only go to 0.5, 3.61, 6 and max.

If you want to be tricky, you can set the gamma manually through the registry. Dont ask me how though. Strange as it sounds, I have never had a single problem with any driver on my card ever. This is just the luckiest machine ever. Best overclocking 6800GT ive ever seen, one of the best winnies ive ever seen, and an AV8 that can push 320+ HTT. Never have a problem.

My old 2400+ was a great machine, but constantly had mobo problems, heating issues, and all kind of guff, this time its all gravy.

What are the Omega optimized drivers like? Anyone here using them? I've noticed the ones on the site are based on 66.90Forceware and released on 4th June. The Official Nvidia ones are 77.72, have there been that many revisions this month?!

The omega drivers aren't great for nvidia, most of their efforts go into the radeon driver sets. the 69.90 drivers are that far out of date that optimised or not I can't see them competing with the latest 7X.XX drivers

Its hard to get a read on Omega. Hes currently working with ATI as a beta tester and "market demographic researcher" whatever the hell that is. Due to that, he cant mod leaked ATI drivers else he would void his contract. To make things even more interesting, it has been said that ATI are the people that told him to keep away from modding the latest Nvidia leaks due to his ATI affiliation. I can understand that I guess. And not wanting Nvidia to look *too* good is probably on his mind as well.

Hes still a legend, and he started the whole driver modding community. A good mate of mine knows him well, and still cant figure out what hes up to right now. Hes pissed off that people dont pay him enough. Everybody knows that. He also doesnt like the modding community in large, and has a problem with several groups. Hes even gone completely mad at one stage and gone rank at select individuals, groups, and even the modding community.

Whatever though, hes still the reason we have these modded drivers now, and a bunch of makers competing for our patronage. He will always be remembered for that. Sadly I think in the future he will be little more than just that though, a memory.
