6K or at least close to it should be possible with a prescott running at 3.8Ghz. You might need to OC that 6800GT a bit.

What drivers are you using? Have you tried Daishi's XG 77.76s?

it's not 3.8, it's 3.38 or so, only about a 2.5-5% oc via bios.
80.40 XG drivers

wouldn't oc to 3.8 without some serious cooling on my chip

Give the 77.76s a go, they seam to work better than the 80.40s.

Stock.

I have had it lapped heavily, cleaned and grinded to remove the paint and improve it a little, and used a very, very well layed and thin layer of AS5, but other than that, it is the reference design HSF.

You cant burn out a 6 series through overclocking. Overclocks are not applied until you have loaded the driver, at which stage the thermal management sytem has taken control. It will never burn out. Volt modding is a different story however.

I have a slight volt mod on mine due to an Ultra Extreme BIOS (the 6800UE is the top 6800 that exists, but is almost never seen.)

Yeap. The GF4 had no temp sensor, had no temp control system, and allowed low level hardware overclocking, which was applied from boot.

The 6 series has a temp sensor, temp control system, and does driver level overclocking instead, which is not applied until windows boots. This means that the temp control system has plenty of time to throttle before the overclock puts any stress on it.

If there is a failure during POST that is seriously fatal, the 6 series is unable to throttle down, so shuts off its own power supply curcuit instead, stopping a possible overheat. Its quite an elegant design.

Since you have that nice 3.2 Prescott you should fold quite well

Folding is protein folding, which is a distributed computing project. You run the client on your machine, and it downloads work units from the F@H server, and processes them in the background on your computer, using the cycles of your CPU that are idle, and sends the completed work back when it is done.

The aim is to help medical science find cures for Cancer, Alzheimers, Parkinsons etc. check out team45.info (the AOA folding site)

also check out the folding topic on this forum http://www.aoaforums.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=19

and to get started quickly read here: New Member Guide and FAQ (updated 9-09)

If you need any help ask Chrisbard or Allan in the folding topic or in a PM, and they will be more than happy to help you out.
