but with laptops crappy battery life if you dont bring your charger you'll kill your battery quickly

I like the fact that they are detectable under Linux so easily. Also the speakers are well designed and not incredibly expensive compared to other portable options such as noise cancelling headphones.

IMHO the Logitech USB powered speakers are better. We have (had?) both out at work, and the Logitech's are highly quality. But by the same token, I am no audiophile.
