Same name, same as AMDzone, VIA hardware, Tom's Hardware and a few others I can't remember. Keeps it simple.

yeah, he means to use the card folded so the metal doesn't contact the card and so it's not sharp.

I freezed my matrox overnight then twisted the HS off with it stuck in a bench vice.

Easy and effective.

I dont like the idea of levering the HS off, im scared ill break something.

A few hours ago I de-sinked (de-sunk???) my MX400, can you believe the GPU sink was held on by two way tape!!!! I'm betting I'll hit 250 on the cpu if it'd run 215-220 without artifacts with only a minimal sink held on by tape. If I didn't short out anything with the epoxy that is. (keep your paws crossed)

The stupidest part is the fact that the actual GPU is convex (or concave, whichever means the center is lower than the corners) so I'm not going to get a 100% contact, unless I snap off the epoxy, lap the chip top down and then re-attatch it, which I'm not going to do. Hopefully the AA will fill things in evenly enough. The AA / superglue on the corners trick has worked for my Rage Fury Pro, I'm using it right now. I'm only getting 12% extra out of the card though, but I could do more tweaking still.

I just pulled the HSF off my Radeon 8500. One hour in the freezer (I got distracted) and a credit card and flat headed screwdriver, and it came right off. I've heard people describe an earthshattering cracking noise, but mine was a few quiet pops, and it was off. Simple enough!

As for the MX400, mine was concave as well. Since mine had mounting holes, I used a compatible HSF (from Tennmax) and put a thicker glob of ASII in the very middle, and a thinner coat everywhere else. Did the same thing with AA on my Radeon 8500.
