 Near future Graphics card upgrade to GTX 470! My Mom last week asked if there was anything else I needed for my new system upgrade. "Well" I said, there is one other thing & that is a new graphics card... So with that said I'll soon be getting a new EVGA GTX 470 Superclocked+ for my system!  I decided on this one because it's got the additional "Highflow" aluminum backplate & rear bracket which will help reduce heat when I OC this...you know I will!  This will be a Major upgrade from my 8800GTS that's for sure! So watch out for my next Vantage benchmark! Should be a good one with my system OC to 4GHz & the card OCed as well! Without increasing voltage on the card I should be able to get these speeds...but we'll see when I get it! GTX 470 OC settings @ default voltage.  I'll be ordering this on Nov 22, I just hope that the egg has it in stock by then as it out of stock now...  I really want the highflow model but if I have to I'll just order the regular [EVGA 012-P3-1472-AR] Superclocked one. Also, I'm not buying the Superclocked for the pre-overclock on it but for the potential of higher OC's that this should yield over the stock one. Fingers crossed on being able to order the EVGA 012-P3-1475-AR Superclocked+ model!

| Playing the Waiting Game! This frustrates me somewhat as Newegg keeps moving up the ETA for when this card will be restocked for ordering!  EVGA 012-P3-1475-AR GeForce GTX 470 (Fermi) SuperClocked+ 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card OUT OF STOCK. ETA: 11/26/2010. (last ETA was the 21st) I can order the highflow bracket separately (for $10) & get the other model that doesn't have it, but it still won't have the nice aluminum backplate on it & it ends up being the same price minus the backplate! So I guess I have to play the waiting game on this if I want both the HF bracket & backplate pre-installed for $279... Well I've waited 3½ years to upgrade the graphics card, so I guess I can wait a bit longer & hope they finally do get it back in stock...otherwise I'll end up having to go the other route. As the saying goes... "Good things come to those that wait!"

| I'm really tired of the marshmallow test... I'm sure you've heard of the marshmallow test given to kids right? Basically its this... There is a marshmallow sitting on a plate in front of a kid. He then has a choice, either eat what's in front of him right away & have instant gratification...OR the kid can wait & then is awarded with 2 marshmallows for having the patience of waiting! I am this kid now! I can either wait to get what I really want, or get what Newegg has in stock & do without the aluminum backplate that goes with the model I "really" want & order the highflow rear bracket separately. (You can't order the backplate separately as it only comes with this model) And so, I wait & wait & wait & wait some more still... Man I am so tired of the marshmallow test... | As far as I can tell it's not keeping you from doing anything other than benchmarking, so I think you can wait it out.

Not just that, but I also got a -$27 discount on the purchase + Mafia 2 for free! $250 including shipping & free game! So it's a done deal...now the waiting is for it to come to the house [by next week] instead of waiting for the other model (forever) to come back in to stock.

| Modified a Custom Skin for Overclocking the GTX 470 SC. As the title says I modified a custom Precision skin (made by ty_ger07) for the new graphics card I ordered... The skin that comes with it on the disk is slightly different as you can see in the pics. Newegg shipped it out today & it will be here on Weds!  If you want to fool around with this skin I uploaded the file in the Digital Editing section of the forum OK.

 Now I'm positive I made the right choice!!! I'm glad my instincts are good & that I made the right choice! ($260 total (w HF bracket) including free Mafia II game) Not only is the Superclocked+ not in stock still, but the price has been raised on it by $100! So all of that waiting time would have been for not! EVGA 012-P3-1475-AR GeForce GTX 470 (Fermi) SuperClocked+ 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card OUT OF STOCK. Now: $379.99 I just checked & both the bracket & GTX 470 are out for delivery here in Payson so I should have it in my hands by this afternoon...now I'm a happy camper! Just say a quick prayer for me that the card will be in perfect condition & 100% working for me when I install it...I sure would appreciate it guys! Never hurts...
