I finally got a new video card

I found a cheap GeForce3-TI200 so I decided to buy it, as I thought the aging ASUS V6800 GeForce 256 DDR Deluxe needed a rest.

I'm very happy with the new card, it has 64MB DDR and 1024*768 TV-OUT.

Stock speed was 175 / 400, but its running very well overclocked to 215 / 460. Max settings are apparently 220 / 500 using the OC tab.

My 3Dmark2001 score was more than doubled with this new card, woohoo! Now I can run most of the new games in 1600*1200 without any problems.

It came with a small heatsink, and for those of you who read my article at OC about cooling my old card, you know that I can't live with puny GPU cooling. I found a big Cooltium slot A heatsink in a drawer, cut it to fit the video card and slapped a small Delta fan on it.. I'm probably gonna take some pictures of this and write a small article some day..

Oh well, just wanted to share...

and PS.: My ISDN line is down AGAIN, so I'm 56k'ing it on the internal modem on the laptop! Grr..

I don't think that the GF3 Ti200's can be beat for price/performance. Happy gaming!

* Ahem *

Ti4200 is only $50 more in the US and spanks the GF3 Ti200

For it's category, you're 101% correct of course, but best overall performance/quality rating would have to go to the Ti4200 IMHO .

I try not to contradict people, I just agree in a backwards kinda way

I would of course have like the TI4200 instead, but I wasnt really willing to pay the extra cash towards it at the moment... And the deal seemed good, $70.

It sure spanks my old video card.

YA, I'm happy with it. WIth this new giant heatsink, I even think it will manage without the fan! But lets just wait and see...

These cards should have about 3.30 volts, right?
