Question DSub-to-BNC Adapter. Incomplete directions in manual. Ack.

A friend gave me a 21" NEC MultiSync P1250+ giganto monitor a few months ago. It's four years old and exhibits a periodic white to yellow, then back to white color shift. Cute, but it's a gift horse.

I've read that using the BNC connectors on the back of this monitor may give me a better looking picture than the usual 15-Pin DSub cable between the Vidcard and the monitor.

I bought a DSub-to-BNC adaptor cable, but the manual's instructions are vague about what to do with the Gray and Black cables.

Red, Green(G/Sync) and Blue connect to the obvious connectors on the back of the monitor. The manual then says "if there's another cable, it goes to the HS/CS connector. If there's a [fifth] cable, it goes to the VS connector." Clear as mud.

I have R, G, B. Plus a Gray and a Black cable. Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you!

Thanks, The Spyder! I got the word that the Gray cable goes to the VS connector, and the Black cable goes to the HS/VS connector from a trusted and knowledgeable source. Alas, no pic at all with the BNC's. Am DSub-ing along. Thank you again.
