Angry Help!

Okay, so I've been having problmes with my 64MB radeon running on XP, and I finally noticed the bsod error it gave me. it gave an error resulting from ATI2diag. and then did a memory dump and reset. I tried the 2k drivers and it still hosed it all... :/

Had the exact same problem.

I think I ended up booting into safe mode or using Last KNown Good Config to get into windows.

I proceeded to uninstall the current radeon card from device manager, then immediately rebooted and had XP install the default drivers. I then reinstalled my w2k drivers.

I just tried that now. I'm resetting and hopefully it will work.

F8.

Did you load the last known good?

I'd think if it was blue screening before windows initializes it should fall back to the last ones that worked.

Does it run with default drivers and just not with the w2k?

It ran great with the default xp drivers, but games sucked. XP and 2k drivers both took my system out.

That sucks. The XP drivers aren't that bad. I'd try again to see if you can get it to work.

Guess you'll be waiting for the next driver update then. Sorry to hear that. No OpenGL support, the agony

I've been hearing similar problems all over recently. At least ATI is claiming new drivers by mid month, but it's one of the greatest shames in the Graphics Card industry right now that ATI makes such great HARDWARE and has such lame driver people.

Note to ATI Driver Developers: No offense, you're just incredibly LAME

well, I got my system back to the default xp drivers, and decided to run 3dmarks just for kicks. I scored 3280, but when it was over everything was slightly blury, like it had just lost focus...

I'm using the XP drivers from windows XP update and though I haven't run quake yet (was having some openGL issues with the XP standard drivers) they seem to run fine, get 3800+ with the specs in my sig.
