RIP Radeon 9800 pro
Last week my 9800 pro died due to a coolant leak. May it rest in peace.

...Does anyone repair these? its still almost useable, just tons of garbled junk, distortion and arctifacts

Hmm, could do with knowing that myself, not sure if mine is dead as I'm getting nothing on the screen at all and the card stops the computer from booting up.

Have you tried flushing the coolent out of the card?

Flushing the coolant? The card still has the stock heat sink on it. The leak was caused by condesation from the CPU waterblock dripping on it after someone shut it off while I was gone. They never shut off the freezer.

Ok, flushing out the drips then?

I think its one built by Saphire. I emailed them and they told me to ask ATI. anyways, I Don't think they would repair it.

Thanks for the offer but I've already ordered a Nvidia 6800 from Newegg. That should run Doom3 pretty well in my A64 system.

You may wanna try some rubbing alcohol, contact cleaner or brake cleaner might work.
