Creative SounBlaster X-Fi

i picked me up the xtrememusic version today and all i can say is OMG!!!! this is the best ******* sound i have ever heard, ever... and in BF2  :drink:

I did nit know that SB Xfi has been released. I am strongly considering getting the Fatality series. The 64 of on board ram sounds enticing and the upgraded emu chip. I have been generally plesed with SB except i think they went to far overboard on the live series. The live series though good were not in my opinion up to par.

dont go with the fatal1ty, its not worth the $$, IMO the XtremeMusic version is all you need

GrahamGarside 22nd August, 2005 11:04 AM

I do think it offers lower cpu overhead, which if you are after squeezing every last FPS from your setup would be nice, but it means having fatality, written visably on your system

Rondog 22nd August, 2005 11:46 AM

BTW: The two higher end ones have the onbard 64mb RAM. The only current game to support the use of this is BF2.

Hey wonder,
Can you write up a review for us and take pix? I'm sure we'll put it up on the front page!!

GrahamGarside 22nd August, 2005 12:37 PM

I thought only the fataility version had the X-Ram

Rondog 22nd August, 2005 12:43 PM

No the Elite Pro and the Fatal1ty both do. :)

GrahamGarside 22nd August, 2005 12:50 PM

So it does :)

cadaveca 23rd August, 2005 04:59 AM

where's those benches?

huh?

where?

WonderBread 23rd August, 2005 05:01 AM

well, i ran 3dm03 sound test, and it never went below 30fps, i havent done anything else with it...any suggestions?

SkyDiver 23rd August, 2005 05:36 AM

I bought the same one you did and the difference is totally awesome. I was not even aware that frog sounds and a few other sounds were around when sniping. I can only say the ears tell you more than a benchmark will. too many variables and the results are rarely the same :}
