Custom HDD and Power lights

I picked up some lights from a car shop. They are rated at 12V and 10W. No mention of ampage.

Now for the lights to work as power lights, and HDD activity lights, they cannot draw enough power through these connectors. So, I plan to cut up a floppy drive power connector (i dont use them), run the yellow wire from the PSU to somewhere on wire that runs from light to motherboard. See diagram.

My questions are:

How many watts does a floppy conector supply?

Could this work?

Who thinks im stupid for doing this?

I don't think that will work, it will just power the light from the floppy connector, meaning it will just be on and not indicate activity, you would need some kind of relay circuitry to use the floppy to power the LED and the motherboard to activate it

Well, the power light it doesnt matter at all. I will just power that through the floppy conector. But that doesnt work for hard drive activity light.

Hmm. OK. Do you know how I could make said relay circuitry?
