19 yo girl's mint linux PC

Baby sister's learning C (professor actually teaching them properly, prescribed the Gospel, according to Kernighan and Ritchie as the teaching textbook). Figured I'd get her a linux OS to dual boot for this as they learn on a mixture of ubuntu and macs. So got her Linux Mint 7 for simplicity.

If you saw it now...

This girl has an MSI Wind U100 in pink, with a hello kitty sticker on the back (8 inch wide hello kitty), and is a complete ditz, now has the fully pink gnome theme with hearts all over it, and pink on light pink GTK.

Will post screenshots later.

Tux would impale himself if he saw it.

The kids at the local high school where I've been volunteering - giving them the gift of Linux - are the same.

You should see the incredibly silly stuff they use for wallpapers. Doraemon, Pokemon, Hello Kitty, One Piece...it's embarassing when the coolest wallpaper someone could find is Spiderman.

I'm a minimalist when it comes to that stuff, so I'm not a good judge, but what can I do about it? Just shake my head. The kids know what I'm on about, too. I think they do it just to tease me...

Your there and your trying to help them... Not even they can find anything really wrong with that. But they will try!

Please allow me to do what only few of them will have the sense to do for years to come.

Thank you. ":O}
