Hehe the time has come to get a laptop. Not a very powerful one. Will use it for internet and skype mainly. If there is one linux I liked it's ubuntu. Can u guys think of any reasons I should go for a different flavor? TY

I've heard that linux community came up with better implemented security in it's latest Linux Mint Gold version, it's actually preventing the user to log in, thus posing 0 risk in contamining the computer with malware! Well done to the open source community!

You're not allowed to run linux.

Ubuntu would work fine, there are also quite a few ubuntu based netbook remixes out there that might suit your needs a little better.

Do we have a convert????
Ubuntu is good for a new convert, but I think Mint is better.
Don't know that you can find something with Mint pre-installed.
