Ups i lost the my mind after eating a salmonella tainted cabbage and now my eyeballs are sweating!

It would be interesting to see what the linux community could do if nvidia did open source their driver. I would bet money that within a year it would be double the size, work on only a few cards and then be abandoned in favor of a new version that barely worked at all, with promises of it being for the best.

I think I am getting to the point where I don't enjoy my freedom too much. I actually had a working printer under linux 90 days ago, it's a paperweight after a recent cups update. After many hours and replies the general consensus is to buy a properly supported printer. Which would probably be the same consensus I would get if I bought a new printer and it stopped working a few months later. Yet I can fire up WinXp in a VM and print just fine.. I'm not sure if my idea of freedom is being chained to my desk trying to get something to print a list of houses, or being a slave to MS for a couple of minutes while it prints, then leaving to go look at some houses. #2 sounds more free than #1.

I've heard that linux community came up with better implemented security in it's latest Linux Mint Gold version, it's actually preventing the user to log in, thus posing 0 risk in contamining the computer with malware! Well done to the open source community!
