Mint 13 Nivdia Drivers Install You should be able to install Nvidia drivers with these steps: Step 1: download drivers: Download the R302.11 drivers from nvidia NVIDIA-Linux-x86-304.43.run (I rename it to something easy like nvidia.run) Step 2: Stopping the display manager / X-server: Open a shell with [Ctrl+Alt+F1]. Under Mint 13, the display manager is called mdm (Mint Display Manager). Here is a radical way to stop it: Code: sudo killall mdm navigate to where you downloaded the driver Code: cd /home/username/Downloads Code: sudo chmod +x nividia.run Code: sudo nvidia.run Step 4: Reboot the system: Code: sudo reboot Open a terminal and type: Code: nvidia-settings Remove Nvidia drivers: Remove Nvidia drivers from the "Additional Drivers" interface. or Open a Terminal: Code: apt remove nvidia-current nvidia-settings

as long as it actually works. I didn't try this myself, but its not all that different from Fedora. in Fedora I had to update kernel-headers and kernel-dev before these steps. Not sure why Mint 13 doesn't require it

Here's one Aedan gave me, simplifies everything, Sense I got my 6700GTX when I reinstall Mint the Additional Drivers screen is blank. Where as in the past, I could, and most still can use Additional drivers to go fetch and install Nvidia for you. But I guess the new drivers aren't covered yet or approved by Mint. So here it is easier than one could have imagined just a year or two ago!! sudo apt-add-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install nvidia-current nvidia-settings nvidia-settings It's worked a dozen times for me.":O} BTW if it offers to clean up unused files....DON'T! It will take out Nvidia Settings! LOL BTW once you run this script "additional Drivers" is restored and shows you current driver. Nvidia settings should pop after you hit the last enter.
