Linux Mint - List of tested games

This is a list in progress of every game I am testing in Linux Mint:

Linux Mint Games

I will continue to update the list as I test more PC Games.
If you have a PC Game that you have tested in Linux Mint, post it here and I'll update my list. Or, if you want me to test a game, make your requests here too. If I don't own it I will look for the demo and try to test it.

I know its kind of redundant because WineHQ already posts every tested PC Game, but this list is specifically for the Linux Mint distribution which also reflects the Ubuntu distribution.

As Mint upgrades the distribution I'll continue testing games and posting tutorials.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl is running!

Installed an ran with PlayOnLinux
All the settings set to high except dynamic lighting. I was getting artifacts in the sky
Launching STALKER is not always successful the first time.

Far Cry 2 Retail is successful!

ran in PlayOnLinux, didn't need to install any packages or change any display options!

The Chronicles of Riddick Plays perfectly in PlayOnLinux, it needs no additional setup files. Runs on my Mint system with all settings at the highest.

Borderlands, the First, Installed though WineTricks is another clean shot!

Do not use POL if your installing from steam files. This will only get you a nasty note from Securom and an accompanying failure to launch. For some reason Wine tricks avoids this.

Launching can be problematical. Wine tricks creates two Icons, one called Steam and one simply labeled Borderlands. Open Steam first. Then open the Borderlands Icon. They will appear as Steam icons in your taskbar.

Then open one or the other, as a drop down one will list Borderlands as the top choice, this is the one you want, click it. It will try and fail to launch.

Now open the other icon to you games Library. click on Borderlands.

It will start to launch and then stop. Look at your task bar, there should be a Wine icon, Right click it and choose restore. Borderlands will launch.

It plays without flaw at the highest settings.

Assassin's Creed is FAILED until I can get help from WineHQ posts.
It installs fine and launches, but the game freezes for a couple of seconds about every 5 minutes... and I'm having mouse issues with it going outside of the game window.
I have tried mousewarp override settings.. all of them! Forced helps but locks the mouse into the center of the screen when in menu's
Assassin's Creed works and look beautiful, but the bugs make it unplayable

Then like smoke in the wind, beyond all repair...

At lest you can let go! I have all these new games and what am I doing? Downloading the Cry -2 1.9 patch...it keeps craping out half way though the download.

But it likes 64 bit computing and I saw my best results with it...so I keep trying... ":O}

My day has three parts now as far as games go. One part new games install and inspect. One part Cry-2 frustration and One part Borderlands for fun and relaxation. The search for meaning will have to wait! LOL

Here's funny for you! I gave up trying to get 1.9 patch to download and just went into the game without it! BEST CRYSIS 2 I've run yet!!

I'm using, oh the shame of it! I'm using 1.3.27 wine! It still doesn't recognize my card, it still plays everything at highest settings EXCEPT for the High Rez that comes with the patch. (64 bit only for High Rez).

It now almost never crashes, Except when I get killed, don't get killed! It hard crashes my machine and I have to do a hard reboot! I finally got past the "dead spot" where I kept crashing...breezed by didn't seem to remember how many times it had crashed at that location!

This is not the finale solution for Cry 2, but I play an hour or two most days. I don't guess everyone would enjoy the experience, but as long I can see some improvement, I'll keep trying.":O}

Yeah, strange how that works!
I've had games break when I apply the patches too. not cool!

when Crysis 2 crashes after you die can you use the keyboard at all?
if you can, try Ctrl+Alt+F1
If you can get to the shell, you can kill the game instead of rebooting

It's been a progression. When I first started it would crash only the games and I could recover by messing about closing one thing or another . Now it's a lock, can't select even to shut down, big button on the box time!

BUT...I'll try Ctrl+Alt+F1 How do I kill it in shell If I can reach terminal?

I tried it, it left me with a blank screen and a prompt! How do you get back? After re-boot it was still just a shell...? Did a quick restore.

Try Ctrl+Alt+F or even F3
It should go to a fullscreen shell (command prompt)
