Ubuntu 13.04

I got Ubuntu 13.04 today. Booted it up Live and played a few with it.
I'm not sure if I will install it.
Anyone have any thoughts on it?

Are they still using the Tablet desktop?

I just don't like the tablet approach for desktops....I live in fear that Mint will go that way leaving me looking for a new Linux OS...sigh...":O}

Looks like a tablet desktop to me.
I am set in my ways. I want a computer to work like a computer. Mint does this in a very nice way.
Though, I must be part bass as I will bite on anything shiny.
I have been collecting distributions and learning some about them. Maybe if something happens to Mint I'll know what to do.

I'm using Fedora 18 with KDE because I just HATED GNOME 3.

Surely it can't be that bad if it comes free!

I could only be worse if it was owned by an truly evil corporation and you had to pay for it...":O}

But of course your right. Like all Linux it comes as a gift from those who created it. That I and many others don't like it does not diminish that fact.

Mint really does everything I need and displays everything in fashion that really helps Windows users.

I actually like Fedora more... its more stable, but I wasn't all that impressed with Gnome 3 either. I got used to it, but really slowed me down.

If anything, Install Fedora 18 and turn off Gnome 3 so it resorts back to Gnome 2 or just install a different desktop manager.

In what way is Mint 14 less stable?

You would be well advised to consider my personal instability before answering!! ":O}

Ah, I'm not going there...
Just saying, in my limited experience with Fedora, I had less problems than with Ubuntu based Operating Systems.

Think of it this way...
I tried Fedora a few months for gaming and had very little issues, but when I switched to Mint for gaming I had a lot more gaming problems in a few months.
But a year later I am having less problems with Mint cause I have been using it every day.

So, from the "get-go" Fedora just seems more stable.... thats all
