Sony to Initiate Global Replacement Program for Notebook Computer Battery Pack

Sony Corporation will initiate a global replacement program for certain battery packs that utilize Sony-manufactured lithium ion cells used by notebook computer manufacturers in order to address concern related to recent over-heating incidents. Sony always strives to deliver the highest level of satisfaction to its customers and all consumers. We believe that this program is in the best interest of both our customers and all consumers.

This is going to cost them a pretty penny, luckily (sic) sony playstation is pretty much a seperate company and can therefore lose money all by itself, and doesn't need to lose it through the battery devision

It's difficult to believe that a strong name brand such as Sony permitted faulty laptop batteries by the millions to go out the door. Thank goodness that the new Dell laptop I have doesn't have a Sony battery in it!
