LG has unveiled its latest smartphone, the LG Spectrum which will come with a 4.5in IPS display with 720p resolution.

The handset, which will be launched on 19 January in the US may never make it to the UK however, as it is a 4G device and will be availalble exclusively from Verizon initially and will run on the carrier's LTE network.

Is 1280x720 "true HD"? How does it compare to Samsung's 1280x800 display? Does anyone want to pay for the data usage for streaming 720p video?

Not sure about the True HD.

"True HD" redirects to 1080p on wikipedia, but "True HDTV" leads to "High-definition television".

I have unlimited data use on my mobile, but not so great for streaming 720p video. Better to download and watch later.
