Why a 1080p display? What do it offer that's worth having?

I think improved colour reproduction, brightness, contrast, etc. are more important. than having such a high-res display on a phone.

In which case the iPhone 5, HTC One X and Lumia 920 come out best according to this: HTC Droid DNA vs. iPhone 5 (And Everyone Else): Who's Got the Best Display? (UPDATED)
