You can use AIM, There is a download for it here http://www.aim.com/get_aim/linux/latest_linux.adp there are alot of others to, check fresmeat.net
I think a dial up client for AOL called Peng you can get here ---->http://freshmeat.net/projects/peng/?...C87%2C143%2C45

However AOL does not make a client to support Linux because they are dirty bastards

1. Download AIM onto your system.
2. Log in as root.
3. On the command line, type the rpm command as shown in the example: rpm -i aim-1.5.277-1.i386.rpm where 1.5.277-1 represents the AIM version and release numbers.
4. To install a higher version of AIM, use the rpm upgrade option, for example: rpm -U aim-1.5.277-1.i386.rpm ."
5. To run AIM, log in as a regular user, and type "/usr/local/bin/aim" on the command line.

Try that and see if it works. Get ready to do alot of reading and research if you are new to linux, it's all worth it though

Invalid, did Darkest's suggestion work for you? If so, did that enable you to use AIM? If so, yay! How about AOL itself? Any progress there?

I wonder sometimes. Is it a conspiracy among the biggies? "Windows forever, Linux never." Or simply inertia that keeps Linux out of the picture too often?
