Big problems with new FastTrak100 TX2 BIOS Update

Hello all - I hope someone can help me with this depressing problem I've encountered:

I recently downloaded the Promise FastTrak 100 TX2 BIOS update version 2.00.0.33 dated 2003/05/16 from the Promise site. The filename was 1_FT100TX2BIOS_v200033.zip. I used PTIFLASH and followed the directions in the readme file. The BIOS seemed to be successfully flashed and PTIFLASH told me to power off my computer.

However, now the card doesn't even get recognized at POST anymore. I tried to flash back to the backup bios I made (previously it was version 2.0.0.24) but I get the the "incorrect file or hardware" error. In PTIFLASH.exe the card is now said to be an ULTRA 100 TX2(1). I believe there may have been a mistake on which file was put on the website, and perhaps this is why the card seems to be flashed to the wrong product. Either that or somehow there is now a corrupt BIOS on the card.

I'm running on a backup computer now, and I tried also flashing the card in the backup computer. By using PTIFLASH.exe /f bios.bin I still got the error: "Invalid file or hardware type". Also, strangely enough, when I booted into windows there was a "found new hardware" and the card was detected as "Promise Technology Inc. Ultra IDE Controller."

Is there some way that I can get a working FastTrak100 TX2 BIOS back on my card. My main computer is unusable because of this

Thank you for your time on reading this. I hope you can suggest any actions I can take in order to get my card working properly again. If only there were a way to clear the seemingly corrupt BIOS - or a way to forcefully flash the card using the newer version of PTIFLASH.

I have e-mailed Promise about this 2 times. They have not responded to me though.
