So you get "can't delete anything wih the "rm x" command? Funny, I gave away my SuSE 10.1 CD's/DVD. Screwed over my laptop. Never, ever thought I'd see a SuSE release that went all Mocrisift on me. Thanks Novell, you guys are the best.

Ahhh think I might have it fixed. First I changed the permissions, then I ran a live CD and was able to delete some files while in there.

Edit...

Ok well I posted that BEFORE I did it. Now I can't get into a desktop to change permissions. Anyone know some console commands? I think I can get into a failsafe.

Here be all my Linux to serve you!
Just to explain a couple of simple commands:

cd -- change directory. The two letters stand for that, so its easy to remember.

ls -- list files. the l and the s come from the first and third letter in (l)i(s)t.

rm -- remove file. this is for deleting, and once again the r and m come from the first and third letters of (r)e(m)ove.

mkdir -- make directory. the m and k come from the first and third letter in make, and the dir comes from directory.

df -- disk free space. d and f come from the two words, (d)isk (f)ree. To get an accurate response, use df -h (the -h means h for human readable, making it easier to understand)

du -- disk usage. the d and u come from the two words (d)isk and (u)sage.
