How do Virgin Radio get their radio to work on a PS3 or Wii? Does anyone know exactly how Virgin Radio have done this? Most internet radio doesn't work on the PS3 web browser, e.g. ShoutCast/WinAmp based stations. I'm guessing that they're streaming it as a video, since most video streams are supported, flash? Anyone know what they're doing? Listen on your Playstation3 or your Wii - Virgin Radio |

Same link is used whether tuning in on a PC or PS3, have only had a poke around on my PC, and that uses RTSP protocol. May be the same for PS3, but still need to hook that up to the PC... |

Hello, I'm the developer at Virgin Radio who wrote the player and I can tell you that: - We use an Icecast mp3 streaming server - A simple Flash file to stream the mp3 stream However, there is a bug in doing this: the wii runs out of memory very quickly as the version of flash on the wii keeps the stream data within it's memory (rubs). There are 2 ways that we have found around this: Server software (a linux version of a flash streaming server (sorry can't remember the name of it)) and flash software (every 2 minutes the flash player resets the memory of the MP3 stream by re-buffering the stream in the background). Hope this is all of help, John Martin - Developer Virgin Radio
