First look: Firefox 3.5 released, ready to "upgrade" the Web

Written by Daniel
Tuesday, 30 June 2009

Mozilla has officially released Firefox 3.5, the next major version of its popular open source Web browser. Ars takes a close look at the new version and evaluates its enhancements. Support for HTML 5 video and other important emerging Web standards make this one of the most significant Firefox releases ever.

My only problem, again under Fedora, is that some plugins I need are not yet updated and ready for my use...":O}

I got just the fix for you Daniel!
It's called Nightly Tester Tools & it takes care of that in a snap!

If any of your extensions or themes don't want to work with the new version of FF,
just install the Nightly tester tools & disable compatibility & they'll work just fine again...
Personally I like to edit the install.rdf to make it compatible again but that's a bit more involved
with editing the theme or extension from within the software.
With this addon it does it for you!
Just click the override all compatibility tab at the bottom & restart FF, Simple. (screenshot)

You can download that here... Nightly Tester Tools v2.0.2

I had 2 extensions & a theme that I had to do this with so they would work.
No issues at all & they work perfectly! That tab will be there is all the addons.

Many thanks Muff1n. Right now I'm fairly engrossed in Mint....but I'll probably get around to giving this a go in the next few days.":O}
