I'm suspicious. Why isn't it coming from Microsoft? Is this leaked or something?

EDIT: It appears to be valid, it tried to phone home to Microsoft. I'm about to install it to test.

Bull! I go into the thing, get it going, then decide it's taking too long and I close it. So then I go back in again, and this time it stalls on me. So I go End Task. Then when I go back in, it tells me my key is invalid as soon as it opens.

Bull! Do NOT use End Task to close the program.

Seriously though it was a legit release? If so what is it supposed to fix? I wouldnt install it on any machine I care about until I know exactly what to expect.

According to M$ it's only a collection of all the patches/updates since XP was released, someone probably tried to collect them and repackage them...

As long as you have run windows update you wouldn't need this.

I don't think so since there is a 1089 version out. The 1089 might be the last one. Since they have to get it out to the OEMs and the expected release date is 10/8/02, I would think SP1 is finished by now.

Hmm. Seems SP1 for WinXP has been delayed to 28/8/02.
