ummm.what's a good book for c++? i tinkered around a bit last year, but i still know jack and i want to pick it up again.

Hmmm, what did I use. My teacher had this really old book that was pretty old school but all right, but I have no idea of the name of it and I hope it's no longer in print Basically, what you need to do first is learn another language very similar to C++, like Javascript, PHP, or Perl, all use the same comparison functions like if, for, while, etc. Then all you really have to do is learn the commands and a little syntax. Great tip dude, which one do you reccomend first PHP or Javascript, like which one is the easiest to learn? and the fastest.
and the is programming for Windows, and dos? What I don't understand is that while using a compiler you compile the program and it makes another extension i forgot which extention but how can you make it executable so it will run on a windows based OS....
