Well maybe that's a little strong but I finished the paper easily in just under 2 hours with no real sticking points. Have since thought of a few silly things that I should've and didn't include but in 6 pages of A4 of handwritten code I don't think that's bad going. Programming on paper just sucks. I need my compiler!

It all comes down to your definition of "pretty darn fast", doesn't it?

I bet it takes quite a while compiling monster programs, right?

LOL. The district systems administrator's "home base" is my school. One time, my friend decided that he was going to a) circumvent the admin's lousy attempts to hide the "S:" share, b) plop 8GB worth of MP3's, games, and "images" on the share, and c) play Quake 2 over the network during computer programming and in the library. Unfortunantly, he got caught, and his counselor was given a 22-page printout of all of the files in his folder he made on the share. He got busted big time; luckily, the principal and his subordinates don't know the first thing about computers, and hence didn't consider it a grievinous offense. He still got like 3 days suspension, though.

A kid who was in my computer programming teacher's class about 5 years ago visited once, and told us about the greatest idea I have ever heard to capture people's passwords. What he did was create a VB program that looked just like the Win95 login screen. Then, he'd load it, and someone would enter their username/password, and when they clicked login, it would save their info to a file, and then restart. Then they could login for real. Most of the people considered this a minor inconvience and didn't complain to the teacher about it. In about a week they had the passwords of practically everyone in the school. That's crazy.

OK, enough rambling for tonight. Can you tell I'm tired?
HAHAHAHAH I DID THAT!!!!!!!

I had to imitate the RM Loogon Screen by eye from the screen next to me, which meant making htel ogo and everything.

I had about 50 passwords before it got sussed and I got in a lot of trouble. It put my dad in a position consdieringf he is a teacher at our school.

I did this in my first year at secondary school. LOL.

I don't compile programs on the 40MHz machine! That 512K of RAM is both the working memory and the file system. (It's battery backed up). The OS and startup application (The command shell) is stored in 512K of FLASH. The JVM only needs 40K of RAM to run.

Copying the logon screen is one of the oldest tricks in the book, but it's amazing just how effective it is!

We used to do this kind of thing on the UNIX and VMS boxes when I was studying. Now we do it on NT/2000 boxes, but in a sneakier manner. We add a bit to the login process (MSGINA.DLL) so it logs all the usernames and passwords. This way it still logs everyone on normally.

Please be careful! To say that a thing can be done is not to say "HOW " it can be done, but less experienced people in our forums may not see this distinction in thire enthusiasm to share.

Lardmaster - First off, over here @ AOA, Spyder is Spyder or The Spyder. No one knows Clowney or Sticky. And my name is NOT Romie online. Jesus.

Other wise, no, Jade did not do well. Not at all.
