For people running Linux clients, EMIII 2.1.8 is out.

Version 2.1.8 improves Linux support with EMIII. It also adds a couple of minor features.

Thanks for the info mook.

How many of you ARE actually running Linux clients?

I used to when I was studying computer science.

I tried the linux client back in the day, but with the tinker core it was pathetically slow under Linux, like about 20-30% slower than Win2K. The Fortran compilers for Linux just aren't as good is my understanding. Gromacs on the other hand is supposed to do quite decent under Linux.

Gromacs is sick with Linux. Some people have reported as high as 20% performance gains with Gromacs and Linux. They're working on the performance somehow so scoring would be more even. I would think they would try to improve the Windows clients and not cripple the Linux clients.

In that case, I'm installing Mandrake 9.0 on my main rig just as soon as I make a disk image of my Win2k

Gromacs is open source modeling software, as such was developed for Linux first more than likely, which would explain the better performance on Linux.

Maybe now's a good time to introduce myself to linux.
My printserver does nothing but handle my inket and fold... Would running linux still work and allow other pcs (all XP) to print to the HP712c?
