Thanks a lot.. I really appreciate it.. But i'm real bummed.. Now that I can't run the AC while I'm classes I'll be slowing down a bit.. And just when I made it to the 70's.. lokks like pmartin is going to bump from that.. I can not wait to get the wireless set up so I can run the p4 (laptop) during the night... And of course Pretender just blew by me....

Ok done whining for now..

Hmm... ever think about slowing down the CPU and undervolting? There's been talk about a new SW utility nVidia is working on for overclockers. A lot of BIOS level control is supposed to be controlled by it... you never know. In theory, you could run your 2400 at like 1800 at low voltage to keep it cool while you are away... then just turn it up when you want it.

I would really like to play with it wshen it comes out. Would 'underclocking' help that much when ambient ir 89f to 93f?

Dropping cvore by 0.1v will drop temps 5 - 10c, so if vcore is adjustable on the fly, it will make a big difference.

Wow!!!
1. Any idea when this will come out, and be implemented?? I beleive that nVidia just release a new unified driver..

2. What kind of performance hit are we talking, say xp2400 down .2v??

3. Has the new core come out????

Thanks...

Also I had a light bulb go off.. it turns out they shipped the wrong item so I won't be able to wireless my laptop, However my school is (at least engineering is), so since the core will wait to send it, I think I'm going to try and set it up tonight..

I don't know much... just the rumors I mentioned..
Regarding the performance with undervolting.... I imagine it is a lot like overclocking. A guess is a guess based on stepping, but there's only one way to find out what your CPU can do. test it and see.
